Early Life and Education
Travis Landon Barker was born on November 14, 1975 in Fontana, California. He grew up in the family of his mother Gloria (Babysitter), his father Randy (Mechanic), and two older sisters.
His mother gave him a drum kit when he was just 4 years old. He started taking drum lessons the following year. In Junior high, he messed around with the piano, learned to play the trumpet, and even sang a choir.
Travis dreamed of being a skater or pro surfer, but soon he realized that drums were his jam for expressing himself.
Sadly, his mother died from Sjögren syndrome right before he went to high school. In the marching band and Jazz ensemble, Travis played drums and he was a self-proclaimed stoner.
