Timbaland and David Cortopassi, the composer of the 1967 song “Spazz,” settled things out in July 2009. They settled the matter in lieu of a lawsuit over Timbaland’s song “Throw It on Me” from his Shock Value album. So, a legal drama was avoided.

A Swiss newspaper revealed about another plagiarism accusation in January 2014. This time, it was about the song “Versus” by Jay-Z, and no other than Timbaland produced it.

Turns out, the instrumental sounded a lot like “On the Way” by a Swiss musician named Bruno Spoerri. To make things right, Jay-Z and Timbaland shared the song’s royalties, giving 50% to Spoerri as a song’s revenue, while Jay-Z retained the other 50% for his lyrics. They settled it well!
